MOTO G4 - REVIEW

DESIGN

Well there are significant changes between the Moto G4 and earlier products in the G range in the design factor. Motorola's trademark stereo speakers arrangement are still the same in the Moto G4. However there is only one loudspeaker st the top of the phone, around the earpiece, and this naturally means that sound is not as good as it could have been but is sill good and smooth.

On the right there are the power and volume buttons, on the bottom the Mocro-USB port is there, and 3.5mm socket is at the top. The battery, two SIM slots and microSD slot is underneath the removable plastic back cover. The power and volume buttons on the right side of the phone are not smooth and feel a little cheap but are clickable.

SPECIFICATIONS

The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC, along with a 3000mAh battery, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage (expandable by up to 128GB using a microSD card). The Moto G4 is 4G-capable on the primary SIM slot, and also supports Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n. There is also USB-OTG and FM radio, but no NFC connectivity.
Google's Android 6.0.1 runs smoothly in the phone. Moto G4 does not have a gallery app, SMS, clock and calendar of itself but don't worry all this is handled by Google. This makes the phone neat and clean from inside as well as outside.
The signature Moto app is present though, allowing you to configure gestures to quickly launch the torch and camera, or to stop the phone ringing when you lift it or flip it over. Additionally, there's Moto Display, which triggers the screen in a low-power mode to show you notifications when you lift the phone.

CAMERA

The Moto G4 has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera which takes decent pictures but there are lot better budget phone cameras available in the market for that check out my review: THE BEST PHONES UNDER Rs 10000
Well not to forgot the dual-LED flash at the back, and video recording at up to 1080p at 30fps. Slow motion 120fps video can be recorded at 540p.
As I told the pictures are decent and colour accurate but lacks details in low light.

PERFORMANCE

The Moto G4 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC. This processor is geared for better mid-range performance and battery life than Qualcomm's previous offerings.

COAST: Rs. 10,999
